Double Head Brewing launched in November 2015 with a sophisticated range of Premium Craft Beers that gained an immediate and loyal following. Amanda & Ty Capaci are the vibrant couple behind Double Head, each possessing distinctive skills: Brewer Ty creates masterful blends and Super-Taster Amanda fine tunes the balance.
The 500 litre small batch brewery is perfectly located, bridging the gateway to the ruggedly beautiful Tasman Peninsula, the verdant Coal River Valley and the stunning East Coast touring route. It is also the last brewery before or the closest to The Hobart Airport. So there's no reason you need ever leave or arrive thirsty again!
Guests are welcome during advertised opening hours and by appointment...or if you see the tall doors up and a brew-day in progress, feel free to relax at the comfortable bar and watch the magic unfold! There's nothing better than the sweet smell of malt on brew day...except hops. When the hops are added we breathe in the aroma of bliss!
With almost two decades of brewing experience, Brewer Ty is passionate about creating both exquisite old world styles and daring modern inventions. For example the Double Head Dunkel, a traditional dark wheat beer that perfectly pairs with game meats, cheese or enjoyed purely for refreshment, has gained an extraordinary, yet well deserved following in a short space of time. Or the Double Head Chupa, a daring flavour-packed festival ale, brewed in collaboration with South American band, Chupacabra, begs to be paired with spice and salsa. Both are definitely not to be missed! Add to that the sensational American style Double Head Pale 1.0.1, filled with rich malt and honeyed tropical notes together with the Sweet Relief Stout, to be drunk first, last or anywhere in between, and your tasting experience will not disappoint.
